Friday, July 1, 2016 – Traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar & ukulele concert featuring songs & stories telling its history.

This concert will ‘tune your world to Aloha’! Award winning concert artists Doug & Sandy McMaster have 10 CDs to perpetuate the knowledge and experience of the endangered artform of traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar and ukulele. Guided by the kupuna (elders), they have dedicated their lives to continuing the family tradition of slack key music.

The Hanalei community center is easy to find. In Hanalei, just a block past the shopping center, turn towards the mountains at Malolo Rd. A small Hanalei Community Center sign is on the edge of Waioli Park soccer fields. Go twenty yards & turn left into the gravel parking area. The concert is in the brown building – Pohai Aloha (Circle of Aloha).

Saturday, July 2, 2016 – Honoring Raymond Kane
Raymond Kane was one of the all time great ambassadors of ki ho’alu (slack key guitar) and the Aloha spirit. He and his beautiful wife Elodia shared their aloha and the spirit of slack key worldwide. Inspiring new fans and slack key guitar player, they were instrumental in the continuation of this beautiful Hawaiian family music tradition. They rooted our feet to the slack key path.

The Princeville community center is easy to find at 4334 Emmalani Drive in Princeville, Kauai. Turning into Princeville community, take the roundabout around and turn right on Emmalani Drive. The center is the first on your right and is located right next to Prince Albert Park. The concert is held in the Aloha Room.

Sunday, July 3, 2016 at PMRF -“America’s Most West Freedom Fest 2016” at PMRF (Pacific Missle Range Facility)

Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the event will start at 5 P.M. Admission is free and will take place on the beach adjacent to Shenanigans restaurant

Rides, food, games, craft vendors, live music by Hawaiian bands, KaVibes, Rebel Souljahz, Greenstone Project and a live fireworks display will highlight the celebrations. Mobile ATM facilities will not be available on festival grounds and guests are highly encouraged to bring cash currency to enjoy the many food, refreshment, game and craft booths available at the event.

July 4th – Kauai Hospice 27th Annual Concert in the Sky in Lihue from 4pm to 9:30pm. Fireworks at 8:30pm.

An annual event hosted by Kauai Hospice at the Vidinha Soccer field in Lihue, featuring popular Hawaii musicians.
Tip: Purchase tickets in advance and save money! Available at all Times/Big Save Markets. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for keiki (free under the age of 5). Tickets at the gate will cost $15 for adults and $7 for keiki.

Driving Directions: Vidinha Soccer Field is located in Lihue next to the Vidinha Stadium off of Highway 51 (near the airport) between Rice Street and Ahukini. Turn “mauka” towards the mountain on Halau Street. Convenient Kapaa condos may be a viable option for you, or choose to stay in a Poipu vacation rental.

4th of July Celebration in Kekaha
Celebrate the 4th of July on the sunny West Side of Kauai in the beautiful town of Kekaha. Bring family and friends to enjoy cultural demonstrations, a variety of crafts, a plantation museum along with games and rides galore for the keiki. Local entertainment is featured throughout the day along with contests, a talent show and much more. Booths provide plenty of ono food and cold refreshing water and soda. Finish the day with a spectacular “OMG” fireworks display accompanied by live music in honor of our Hawaiian military men and women who protect our liberty of our country. This is a non- alcoholic and drug free event so we appreciate no coolers, however you can bring your mat or beach chair. Parking is available adjacent to Faye Park in Kekaha.
