IMG_0168Imagine  a fun day in the sun, with gentle trade winds, palm trees swaying, blue skies, and a turquoise blue ocean to jump in to.  Just beautiful!  Celebrate the 4th of July in Hawaii.  So you might just plan a spur of the moment vacation and start booking your trip over to the Garden Island of Kauai.  If that’s your plan consider staying in a Kauai vacation home or condo.  There are a few Kauai accommodations I recommend.  A private home on the beach in Hanalei Bay.  The Pine Trees Beach Villa is a wonderful oceanfront choice .  Otherwise, a great home located in Haena called Hale Manoa is a wonderful option as well.  It is located within a short walk to Tunnels Beach Kauai.  So it really depends on what is most important to you.  If you’re lucky enough to jump on a plane and head right on over, great!

Locals and tourist alike enjoy the 4th at the beach, while grilling up some fresh island fish, surfing, swimming, and simply relaxing.  If you like firework shows, The Concert in the Sky is worth checking out.  There are Kauai festivities happening in the month of July.  So be sure not to miss out all all the good events happening.  There are there aren’t much of that going on here.  If you like Your options are endless, if you truly love the outdoors.  Kauai may just be your favorite destination spot.  So why not treat yourself to a last minute vacation to Hawaii.  It is worth it.  The weather in July is amazing, rain or shine.

Happy 4th of July!  Have fun and be safe…

Happy Easter!  What more could we ask for?  Spending Easter on the beach in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, Kauai.  Here we celebrate Hawaiian style with all of our family and friends. It is a time to be grateful for all the wonderful things we are blessed with.  Most importantly family and friends that are here to support and love us.

Perhaps, you’re visiting or live here full time, spending Easter in Kauai is always so special.  Especially, for those visiting.  How often do our children egg hunt on the beach?  Not that often, right.  You might consider planning your next Easter vacation in a Kauai rental.  You will absolutely love Kauai and will find yourself coming back year after year.

What is Easter?  On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches.

Christians believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

(For a more detailed explanation about his death and resurrection, see Why Did Jesus Have to Die? and Timeline of Jesus’ Final Hours.)

Easter Season

In Western Christianity, Easter marks the end of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline in preparation for Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday. Eastern Orthodox churches observe Lent or Great Lent, during the 6 weeks or 40 days preceding Palm Sunday with fasting continuing during the Holy Week of Easter. Lent for Eastern Orthodox churches begins on Monday and Ash Wednesday is not observed.

Because of Easter’s pagan origins, and also because of the commercialization of Easter, many Christian churches choose to refer to the holiday as Resurrection Day.

Easter in the Bible

The biblical account of Jesus’ death on the cross, or crucifixion, his burial and his resurrection, or raising from the dead, can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

Determining the Date of Easter

In Western Christianity, Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the Paschal Full Moon. I had previously, and somewhat erroneously stated, “Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the first full moon after the vernal (spring) equinox.” This statement was true prior to 325 AD; however, over the course of history (beginning in 325 AD with the Council of Nicea), the Western Church decided to established a more standardized system for determining the date of Easter.

There are, in fact, as many misunderstandings about the calculation of Easter dates, as there are reasons for confusion. To clear up at least some of the confusion visit:
Why Do the Dates for Easter Change Every Year?
