Transient Vacation Rentals in non VDA areas
We are so privileged to offer transient vacation rental accommodations in non vacation rental destination areas throughout Kaua’i. These vacation rentals are located in a residential community. Please respect the area, your neighbors, drive with caution and slow down – there is no rush, observe road signs, ‘smile’, recycle, conserve electricity, and always show ‘Aloha’. House rules are listed within the rental property. Please respect them at all times.
The County of Kaua’i issue permits to the approved vacation rentals in non VDA areas. The permits will begin with TVNC, TVNCU, or SP for a special permit. Please check with your agent on rentals in Kaua’i. All rentals shall have a tax identification number.
Condo’s in Kaua’i and hotels are located in the resort towns of Princeville, Kapaa/Wailua, Lihue, and Poipu. Vacation home rentals are also available in the resort areas. Majority of home rentals do not have air conditioning. There are ceiling fans and/or floor fans. Condo’s and resorts are more likely to offer A/C. If you require air conditioning please be sure to let your agent know.
The taxes on vacation rental accommodations is 17.96%. To break it down 4.712% is general excise tax and 13.25% is transient accommodation tax. Effective October 2021 the county of Kauai imposed a 3% tax hike.
We ask that you please sit back, relax, and enjoy your vacation here on beautiful Kaua’i with care and respect.
